Reminder: CRCC INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR COMMITTEE MEMBERS

The CRCC Governance Committee is pleased to announce it is currently accepting applications for individuals to serve as members of the Standards & Examination and Ethics Committees of the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC).

 

The application period will be open from October 15, 2014 to December 5, 2014 at 5:00 pm CT. The Governance Committee will only consider applications submitted by this deadline when developing a slate of candidates to present to the Board of Directors.

 

Term of Office

Three year term from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2018.

 

Number of Open Positions

The Standards & Examination Committee is looking to fill two open positions.

 

Qualities & Characteristics

Committee members must be CRCs in good standing. While CRCC is committed to maintaining diverse committee composition with regard to age, gender, ethnicity, and geographical location, an even greater emphasis is placed on encouraging a diverse composition with regard to work setting. With this in mind, the Governance Committee has had an opportunity to review committee composition as it will be composed effective July 1, 2015 and has determined the Standards & Examination Committee currently has representation from the education and public rehabilitation work settings and has noted a need for candidates from the private (for-profit and not-for-profit) and other diverse rehabilitation counseling practice settings.

 

Time Commitment

-The Standards & Examination Committee typically meets in person three times annually for up to two days each.

-At times, a conference call may be required to conduct business between meetings. 

-Time will also need to be allotted to review the agenda and meeting materials in advance of

meetings.

The Ethics Committee is looking to fill one open position.

Completed application materials, including two letters of recommendation, must be submitted no later than December 5, 2014 at 5:00 pm CT. Those candidates elected to a Committee position must attend a Committee orientation session in July 2015, in Schaumburg, Illinois.

Note: Late applications or those that do not meet these requirements will not be accepted.


Individuals will be notified regarding status as a final candidate by February 1, 2015. Final candidates will be required to participate in a phone interview with a member of the CRCC Governance Committee, which will be scheduled during the first two weeks of February 2015. CRCC's Board of Directors will consider a slate of candidates in early April 2015, with notifications sent to all final candidates by April 15, 2015.
